The Goldsmiths’ Centre will present Box of Dreams, a jewellery and silversmithing-led pop-up exhibition curated by artist jewellers Ella Fearon-Low and Jed Green, during London Craft Week.
The event will run from 14 to 15 May 2026 at the Centre’s Clerkenwell premises, bringing together UK-based makers working across jewellery, silversmithing and related disciplines.
Focus on Containment and Material Exploration
The exhibition centres on the idea of containment, examining how boxes and vessels can hold both physical and conceptual meaning. A curated display under the same title will present interpretations of containment through forms including boxes, vessels and wearable objects.
Works combine precious and non-precious materials, reflecting experimentation within contemporary craft practice. By incorporating materials such as wood, textiles and glass alongside metals, the exhibition demonstrates how jewellery and silversmithing techniques are being applied across a wider range of materials.
Fearon-Low and Green said: “Through this exhibition, we wanted to explore how something as simple as a box can hold layers of meaning, from the materials used to the stories they tell.
“It’s a celebration of both craft and imagination, and how these two come together in contemporary making.”
Participating Makers
The exhibition includes work by Morvarid Alavifard, Ane Christensen, Ella Fearon-Low, Jed Green, Jo McAllister, Caitlin Murphy, Francisca Onumah, Elsa Tierney, Sarah Pulvertaft and Inca Starzinsky, alongside contributions to the curated display from Amanda and Matt Caines, Ash & Plumb, Amy Cushing, Richard McVetis, Jo Pond and Carola Solcia.
The group represents a range of approaches, from traditional metalwork to interdisciplinary practices incorporating textiles, glass and mixed media. Several exhibitors work across jewellery, object and sculpture, reflecting wider activity in the sector.
Public Programme and Access
The free exhibition will take place between 12pm and 6pm on both days in the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s event space. All works will be available for purchase.
A curator-led tour hosted by Fearon-Low and Green will take place on 15 May from 11am to 12pm, outlining the exhibition themes and how they are addressed in the work on display.
Charlotte Dew, Head of Public Programmes at the Goldsmiths’ Centre, said: “We are thrilled to host Box of Dreams during London Craft Week, bringing together some of the most exciting contemporary makers working across diverse disciplines, to explore how and where we contain our dreams.
“The exhibition gives visitors a unique opportunity to experience the creativity taking place in a space that is home to over 120 craftspeople.”
