Back to the future with headband jewellery straight out of the 1920’s.
Our fashion jewellery model Cherie, tells Jewellery Monthly what’s hot and trending at the moment.
Cherie explains:
“Jewelled headband accessories date way back to the 1920’s. It gives you that Festival/Boho* look. They are easy to wear and come in many different shapes, sizes and styles to suit your own preferences. They give you the glam factor, whilst accentuating and shaping your face. The styles available are plentiful, you can choose from: Indian, bohemian, bridal head dress and hippie headbands”.
*Boho-chic is a style of fashion drawing on various bohemian and hippie influences. The Boho look was at its height in 2004–05 and was associated with actress Sienna Miller and model Kate Moss in England and (as “bobo” chic) actresses Mary-Kate Olsen and Nicole Richie in the United States.
This jewellery fashion trend has repeatedly re-surfaced in varying guises. Many elements of boho-chic became popular in the late 1960s and some date back much further, being associated, for example, with pre-Raphaelite women of the mid-to-late 19th century.
Cherie loves wearing her headband jewellery out and about, especially to Festivals or sophisticated evenings out. Check out some of her snaps and leave your comments or images in the section below.
