Pat Cheney was launched in 1976 by Pat Cheney after training in Fine Art at Falmouth College of Art. Pat also pursued ceramics and knitwear design alongside her fine arts training, this led to her finding a unique style within Jewellery. Line and balance of form have always been an important element in my designs, many of which show the stylised influence of the Art-Nouveau and Art Deco periods. In 1990 she relinquished Pat Cheney Jewellery Ltd to Ortak Jewellery.
Pat Cheney products continue to be hand crafted to the same high standard in Kirkwall, Orkney. Pat Cheney’s original designs continue to be used and enhanced maintaining the underlying influence of the Art-Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Ortak continue to push Pat Cheney designs forward, using innovative hot glass and enamel techniques to enhance the designs and showcase the beautiful shapes of each piece.
